Effects of Rotor-Rotor Interaction on the Wake Structure and Thrust Generation of a Quadrotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

In this paper, the effects of rotor-rotor interaction on wake structure and thrust generation a quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) are experimentally investigated in rotor tip Reynolds number range 34000 - 54000. The strength is manipulated by varying rotating rotors normalized separation distance. A stronger places inner vortices between closer to each other, forming an upflow region through vortex pairing intensifying turbulence intensity rotors. To comprehensively evaluate effect structure, we propose modified Landgrebe's model that accurately describes boundary UAV, given analysis based shows interaction, less contracts vena contracta moves rotor-tip path plane. momentum theory combined with loss axial transfer due inclination insufficient account for caused interaction.
